Admission Process for Emory's Financial Planning Certificate Program


1. Enroll in the program

Complete and submit the registration form for entrance into the program. The registration form can be downloaded by clicking here or using the link to the right ->

You can return the completed form in several ways, which are described in the document. If accepted, your space in the financial planning program will be reserved once payment has been received.

Admissions requirements

To enroll in this program, you must have:

  • A 4-year undergraduate degree from a college or university
  • Basic computing and word-processing skills
  • Internet access (preferably high-speed)

For non-native English speakers:

We recommend a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 250 on the computer-based exam or 100 on the internet-based exam. These scores are recommended, but not required.

2. Pay for the program

Determine your preferred method of payment. We accept credit cards, money orders, and cashier's checks. If paying by credit card, simply complete the appropriate section on the registration form. Details on mailing or delivering your payment in person are also listed on the registration form. The program cost of $5995 includes:

  • Tuition for our full program, including seven financial planning courses
  • Access to online support website
  • All textbooks and course materials
  • Capstone case study
  • Graduation certificate
  • Complimentary parking

Financing options

While our financial planning program focuses on quality of education, we understand your need for an affordable professional training program. To help with the cost of the program, Emory recommends the following three forms of financing:

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.

Emory University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered certification marks. CFP® certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.

Emory University is a CFP Board approved educational institution providing the instruction leading up to the CFP® Certification Examination. It does not determine individuals eligibility, qualification, or any other condition required to acquiring and maintaining the CFP® Certification. Emory University is not responsible for information beyond the education program it offers. Individuals must contact CFP Board at http://www.cfp.net for all matters regarding the acquiring and maintaining of the CFP® Certification.
