Emory Financial Planning Program Details

The Emory Financial Planning Certificate Program is designed for working professionals

• The program lasts approximately 9 months
• Classes meet every other weekend on Friday evenings and Saturdays
• This program is offered at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and at our new location in North Atlanta.

Comprehensive Curriculum

The program’s unique combination of classroom and independent study along with online exams and support indicates a well-rounded approach to your financial planning education. Our program curriculum includes:

• Over 200 hours of classroom lecture from financial planning experts that covers all 89 topics included on the Comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination. View a list of course topics.
• An online support website with discussion boards, practice quizzes, grade postings, and additional educational resources
• Supplementary reading materials such as workbooks, case studies, and financial articles
• Textbooks written and edited by industry leading financial professionals

Cost

The program cost is $5995, which includes tuition, access to our online learning modules, and all textbooks and materials.

Earning the Emory Financial Planning Certificate

Students must earn a minimum of 75% in each module. Class projects and exams will be administered and resulting grades will be counted toward this minimum.  
Participants must achieve an 80% or better score in the course to earn the Emory Financial Planning Certificate.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.

Emory University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and federally registered certification marks. CFP® certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.

Emory University is a CFP Board approved educational institution providing the instruction leading up to the CFP® Certification Examination. It does not determine individuals eligibility, qualification, or any other condition required to acquiring and maintaining the CFP® Certification.
