Emory Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Program CurriculumThe Emory Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate includes approximately 20 hours of online study and 24 hours (4 days) in the classroom. Our classes are packed with applied exercises and real-world case studies to improve your learning experience. A portion of the classes will be spent developing an improvement project based on your specific business challenges. Below is an outline of the topics that will be covered in Emory’s Green Belt Program.
Six Sigma IntroductionDefine – participants will be taught tools to identify and/or validate their improvement project, illustrate their business processes, define customer requirements and prepare themselves to be an effective part of the project team. Modules include:
Measure – Participants will learn and practice employing tools to determine critical measures necessary to satisfy customer requirements and develop a measurement plan to document process performance. Participants will learn the basics of variation and how to measure process sigma. Modules include:
Analyze – participants will learn how to analyze the data to clearly understand and identify opportunity for improvement. Participants will learn how to determine the causes of variation as well as customer dissatisfaction. Modules include:
Improve – participants will learn how to identify root causes and create solutions to eliminate them. Participants will be introduced to various methods of solution identification, prioritization, and implementation and learn how to gain approval for the solution and plan for impacts the changes will have on the organization. Modules include:
Control – participants will learn how to develop and utilize a control plan to ensure the sustained achievement of targeted results. Participants will discuss how to share lessons learned, identify standardization methodologies, and techniques to encourage continuous process improvement. Modules include:
